The Division works in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to apply for Mitigation Grants assistance for State agencies and local governments. The key grant programs include: Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA), Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM), Repetitive Flood Claims (RFC) Program, and the Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) Pilot Program. The purpose of these grant programs are to provide funds to State agencies and local governments for projects that reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from the effects of natural hazards.
