Atlanta Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF)

GISAC works closely with the local FBI office to share tips and leads and coordinate research and investigative efforts. This partnership has benefited greatly from GISAC’s unique position as the only fusion center in the country that is co-located with the local FBI office, allowing for regular meetings and information exchange. Since 2006, the agencies have used a single telephone number for incoming calls from Georgia public-safety agencies reporting tips and leads. In 2009, additional steps were taken to coordinate investigative efforts, and GISAC agents and analysts were embedded in Atlanta FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF). These arrangements have fostered a collaborative environment that ensures efficient and effective intelligence sharing and timely lead development.
